Cancer of the vulva accounts for 5 % of all female genital malignancies [1]. The ages of vulvar cancer patients are higher than those of other gynecological cancer patients. The incidence increases with age and the peak incidence is observed in the sixth decade of life [2]. In addition, it appears that the incidence has been increasing over the past few years, which is believed to be due to increases in female life expectancy. Vaginal cancer is less common, accounting for only 1–3 % of gynecologic malignancies [1]. Most patients are in their fifth decade or older [3].
