The authors reflect on the U.S. catheterization laboratories favoring the transradial approach and increased practice of the technique for coronary angioplasty and intervention in the U.S. They inform that the transradial approach has lower bleeding risk and access site complications as compared to the femoral approach. A graph which discusses progression of transradial approach to percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in the U.S. for the period of 2003-2014 is also presented. |
