مستخلص: The articles discusses the long-term impact of lifestyle changes on the prevention of diabetes. In 1986 a total of 577 adults in China with impaired glucose intolerance were randomly assigned to one of four groups--a control group, a diet group, and exercise group, or a diet and exercise group. Treatment continued for six years until 1992. In 2006 the health of all group members was evaluated. Analysis indicated favorable outcomes concerning the prevention or delay of diabetes for persons in the treatment groups relative to those in the control group.
