مستخلص: The authors offer reflections on the Latin American/North American exploratory workshop held in October 2009 which investigated societal determinants of health inequities between and within countries. They express concern with how social injustice harms health and recognize that social inequalities in health have long been documented and debated. The authors offers an appreciation on the importance of theory in shaping analysis of health inequalities which is differences in health outcomes due to injustice.
