الوصف: | Alopecia areata (AA) is a multifactorial immune-mediated condition, accompanied by damage to the hair follicles, leading to disruption of the growth cycle and subsequent hair loss. Focal hair loss belongs to the category of socially significant dermatoses since the disease affects different age groups of patients, there is a possibility of repeated recurrence of the process regardless of the therapy and there is a change in appearance that affects the psychosocial status of the patient. The conditions for manifestation, clinical diversity and the course of the disease are a complex combination of environmental and genetic factors. There is a large number of approaches to the treatment of alopecia areata including topical, systemic and injectable drugs. However, the results of therapy vary widely. To date, no drugs have been developed that can induce lasting remission. During the decision on the appointment of any treatment method it is necessary to clearly assess the severity of the disease, the prevalence of the process, to distinguish between pediatric and adult patients. In addition, the many side effects of systemic therapy narrow the therapeutic potential of modern treatment methods. The introduction of genetic engineering biological products, monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins, is a promising direction in modern medicine. Many drugs have successfully established themselves in rheumatological practice and are also widely used in dermatology throughout the world, including in Russia, for the treatment of psoriasis. A number of studies have demonstrated the clinical efficacy of biologic agents in the treatment of alopecia areata, however, along with this contradictory results have been obtained. This article discusses Janus kinase inhibitors, as a result of the use of which promising results have been obtained, which certainly causes interest for further study and implementation of this group of drugs into general practice. |
