الوصف: Vitamini skupine B grupa su spojeva raznovrsnih kemijskih, fizikalnih i fizioloških svojstava. U ovu skupinu spadaju tiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantotenska kiselina, vitamin \(B_{6}\), folat i vitamin \(B_{12}\), a svi su oni dio skupine vitamina topljivih u vodi. Igraju važnu ulogu u metabolizmu makronutrijenata, ali imaju i brojne druge uloge u ljudskom organizmu. Manjak prehrambenog unosa i poremećaji apsorpcije ili prijenosa dovode do razvoja specifičnih bolesti, a neke od njih su beri-beri, pelagra i megaloblastična anemija. Adekvatan status vitamina skupine B može povoljno djelovati na zdravlje krvožilnog sustava i očuvanje kognitivnih funkcija. Analitičke metode koje se najčešće koriste u svrhu određivanja sadržaja vitamina skupine B u hrani i dodacima prehrani jesu razdvajanje tekućinskom kromatografijom visoke djelotvornosti te analiza masenom spektrometrijom. ; B complex vitamins are a group of chemical compounds with various chemical, physical and physiological properties. Vitamins of B complex are thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin \(B_{6}\), biotin, folate and vitamin \(B_{12}\). They are all part of a water-soluble group of vitamins. They play an important role in macronutrient metabolism, but they also have many different functions in human organism. Nutritional deficiency or absorption and transport impairments lead to development of specific diseases, such as beri-beri, pellagra and megaloblastic anemia. Adequate status of these vitamins can have a positive impact on cardiovascular health and cognitive function preservation. The most commonly used analytical methods for assessment of B complex vitamins in food and supplements are high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry analysis.
