الوصف: | Cilj rada je analizirati globalnu kapitalističku (konzumerističku) kulturu kroz koncept reality show-ova. Kapitalizam ne znači isključivo način proizvodnje, već ga se može odrediti i kao kulturni totalitet tehnoloških, ekonomskih, političkih, socijalnih i simboličkih segmenata. Definirajući ga tako, globalizacijski procesi popraćeni medijskim razvojem i utjecajem manifestiraju navedene segmente u globalnoj sferi. Medijske reprezentacije kreiraju te nameću kapitalističku (konzumerističku) kulturu. Jedna od takvih medijskih reprezentacija jest i reality show, koncept putem kojeg se promovira određeni stil života, koji između ostalog, obuhvaća i konzumerističke prakse. Analiza reality show-a Keeping up with the Kardashians napravljena je na temelju kodiranja, odnosno dekodiranja značenja proizvedenih u emisiji, subliminalnih poruka te je reality show stavljen u kontekst društva spektakla. ; The aim of the paper is to analyze global capitalist (consumerist) culture through the concept of reality shows. Capitalism is not only referring to production, but it can also be defined as the cultural totality of technological, economic, political, social and symbolic segments. Defining it thus, globalization processes accompanied by media development and influence manifest these segments in the global sphere. Media representations create and impose capitalist (consumerism) culture. One of such media representations is the reality show, a concept that promotes a certain lifestyle, which necessarily encompasses consumerism practices. The analysis of the reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians was based on coding and decoding of the meanings produced in reality show, subliminal messages and finally, the reality show was placed in the context of a society of spectacle. |
