Licenciatura como Médico Veterinario y Zootecnista ; This paper aims to describe the behavior of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis and the impact on public health. TB is an infectious disease of multifactorial character, ranging from mycobacteria own considerations, socio-economic and clinical biomedical. An important consideration is the ability of bacteria to infect a patient and remain dormant for many years before its revival; which is an obstacle to the control and elimination of TB. Considering the consulted bibliographic information, one of the classic routes of transmission of the disease is the consumption of unpasteurized milk and by-products of dairy origin (creams, cheeses, butters, mainly), a situation that leads to establish stricter mechanisms control and surveillance of dairy cattle, coupled with this is important for traditional or artisanal cheesemaking practices and other products, introduced risk assessment schemes and medical control to prevent transmission of the bacteria to people. To conclude, in our country, there is a close relationship between workers in barns and cattle, so the animal health disease control is of great importance to eradicate the disease in man, through close collaboration between CAHWs , human health and the ethical and social commitment of producers. ; EL Presente trabajo pretende describir el comportamiento de Mycobacterium tuberculosis y Mycobacterium bovis y el impacto que tienen en la salud pública. La TB es una enfermedad infecciosa de carácter multifactorial, abarca desde consideraciones propias de la micobacteria, socio-económicas y clínico-biomédicas. Una consideración importante es la habilidad de la bacteria para infectar a un paciente y permanecer latente durante muchos años antes de su reactivación; lo que es un obstáculo para el control y eliminación de la TB.
