| الوصف: | Despite acting as a repressive apparatus of the State, a significant portion of the population sees police stations as the closest and most easily accessible public service. Therefore, many police stations around the country have adopted Consensual Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to meet the demands related to minor offenses. As such, it was necessary to study this social phenomenon, evaluate its effectiveness, positive and negative aspects, and examine the results achieved to see if they are satisfactory or just satisfy the immediate need of the population to be heard about the conflict. This work, then, through a bibliographic study on the legal frameworks of mediation in Brazil and the performance of criminal mediation, victim-offender, as an expression of Restorative Justice, investigated several national experiences of the application of ADR in the police environment, seeking to assess the impact caused in the judicialization of conflicts, as well as its repercussion on police institutions. Empirical research was carried out on the Acorde Program, the experience in Sergipe, in which it was demonstrated how the Acorde's focus, since it is a program based on restorative principles, is the service to the community, not limited to the formalization of agreements. In addition, it identified as its weaknesses, mainly organizational, promoting a diagnosis to contribute to Acorde's evolution. At last, it was concluded that the national initiatives grounded on restorative principles have been achieving promising results in the promotion of a culture of dialogue, despite the adversities encountered and that such projects have the potential to cool resentment, raise accountability and reparation, avoiding criminal recidivism motivated by revenge and preventing the occurrence of more serious crimes ; Apesar de atuar como aparelho repressor do Estado, significativa parcela da população enxerga as delegacias como o serviço público de maior proximidade e de mais fácil acessibilidade.
