الوصف: The military firefighter performs their duties in different environments, requiring high physical demand, and must stay put himself in a good health condition, to perform its duties safely and efficiently. This paper aimed to investigate the dieting habits and nutritional status of the Military state Fire department of Pará personnel performing their duties in the metropolitan region of Belém, Pará, Brazil. An observational, descriptive study that evaluated 255 military men and women, among high rank personnel and executive level personnel. The militaries responded to the adapted survey with sociodemographic, lifestyle, disease history, and dieting habits information. Anthropometric measurements were collected using a bioimpedance scale and blood pressure was checked. It was identified that 18.82% were healthy and 81.18% were overweight. Only 23.53% had normal blood pressure; 88.63% practice physical activity; 82.75% never smoked. The mean of total and visceral fat was above the normal reference values and added to the mean waist circumference indicates risk for cardiovascular diseases. The mean of lean mass was within the normal values for the age groups. Even though fresh and minimally processed foods are the basis of the firefighters' diet, there is still a high consumption of processed, ultra-processed and oils, fats, sugars, and salt categories, which are associated with the appearance of chronic non-communicable diseases. Being essential changes in dieting behavior and encourage the practice of physical activity for the military, in order to prevent chronic non-transmittable diseases, and thus reflect a good performance in serving the society of Pará state ; El bombero militar desarrolla su trabajo en diferentes ambientes, requiriendo una alta exigencia física, y debe gozar de buena salud para desempeñar sus funciones con seguridad y eficiencia.
