| الوصف: | This dissertation examines the phenomenon of word stress in English, first questioning its definition, why it is so important in this language and what its place is in the history of teaching English as a foreign language. The dissertation also discusses historical trends and cycles in the teaching of pronunciation and, most importantly, explores how the teaching of tonal stress can be better integrated into our current action-based approach to language teaching. The study seeks to understand the effect that a few lessons on tonal stress can have on learners' attitudes to English pronunciation, and therefore how best to help them master this critical aspect of phonology. ; Ce mémoire examine le phénomène de l'accentuation des mots en anglais, en interrogeant d'abord sa définition, pourquoi elle est si importante dans cette langue et quelle est sa place dans l'histoire de l'enseignement de l'anglais en tant que langue étrangère. Ce mémoire traite également des tendances et des cycles historiques dans l'enseignement de la prononciation et, plus important encore, explore comment l'enseignement de l'accent tonique peut être mieux intégré dans notre approche actuelle de l'enseignement des langues, qui est basée sur l'approche actionnelle. L'étude cherche à comprendre l'effet que peuvent avoir quelques leçons sur l'accentuation tonique sur l'attitude des apprenants à l'égard de la prononciation anglaise, et donc comment mieux les aider à maîtriser cet aspect critique de la phonologie. |
