الوصف: This study intended to understand the psychiatric ward professionals’ conceptions concerning the organization of the provided service and therapeutics, with respect to the approach and distancing from the Psychiatric Reform ideals. The qualitative approach was adopted and the data was processed by using the Thematic Content Analysis. The data collection was performed by applying an open questionnaire, approaching themes related to the treatment, planning and evaluation of the actions, participation of the user in his/her treatment, continuity of the assistance after the admission period and professionals’ perception about the psychiatric ward. The sample comprised seven professionals from the nursing, psychology, social service, occupational area and psychiatry areas. According to the results, the professionals have incorporated concepts resulting from the psychiatric reform; however, they find impasses, once the care is still fragmented and there are underused spaces for the team communication. With this respect, it would be important to rethink the multiprofessional team work optimization ways in order to provide an integral care. ; Se buscó comprender las concepciones de los profesionales de un pabellón psiquiátrico sobre la organización del servicio y la terapia ofrecida, en cuanto a enfoques y distancias de los ideales de la Reforma Psiquiátrica. El enfoque fue cualitativo y el procesamiento de datos se basó en la técnica de Análisis de Contenido Temático. Se aplicó un cuestionario abierto, con temas relacionados con el tratamiento ofrecido, la planificación y evaluación de las acciones, la participación del usuario en su tratamiento, la continuidad de la atención tras la hospitalización y la percepción de los profesionales sobre el servicio de psiquiatría. الوصف: The publication of DMS-5 in 2013, although marked by a series of critics, had introduced a new chapter, entitled “Disorders of Neurodevelopment”, which was received as a kind of promise in contemporary psychiatry. The broader logic articulated to this diagnostic group, when encompassing a series of conditions initiated in childhood under the aegis of an etiopathogenesis linked to neuronal development, points to new directions in the field of psychiatry, such as the Rdoc project. The objective of this paper is to present, through selected bibliography, the neurodevelopmental perspective articulated to the rise of the chapter “Neurodevelopmental Disorders”, seeking to trace correlations with the phenomena of neuroculture, neuroidentities and neurodiversity, as well as to identify the notions of normality and pathology implicit in this logic. In addition, some consequences of this paradigm are pointed out in the context of childhood and education. The social ideals linked to the notions of competence and agency have reconfigured the perception of contemporary childhood, associating it with values such as autonomy and adaptability, making the distinction between children and adults less marked. These values are syntonised with the notion of neurodevelopment, as both imply a trajectory of constant change, reconfiguration and lifelong learning. The field of education is affected by this discussion, being invaded by brain metaphors around neuroplasticity that, associated with the emphasis on entrepreneurship and risk management, lead to shifts in the identity of contemporary children and adolescents. ; La publicación de DMS-5 en 2013, aunque marcada por una serie de críticas, introdujo un nuevo capítulo, titulado "Trastornos del neurodesarrollo", que fue recibido como una especie de promesa de la psiquiatría contemporánea. الوصف: As of the second half of the nineteenth century, Uruguayan society began making strides towards a process of medicalization to have led to the growing presence of doctors in everyday life. It was in this context that psychiatry came to gain ground (as did other branches of medicine), serving as an instrument used by doctors to designate not just psychiatric illnesses of a biological origin, but also moral and social causes which unequivocally led to ‘madness”. Homosexuality, masturbation and prostitution were to be found among these practices, and were not only considered criminal offences, but also psychopathological manifestations. Among other social problems, psychiatrists tackled the approach to sexual practices and their normativization, charging various state police and health institutions with the containment, repression and isolation of all men and women who demonstrated any kind of ‘deviance” in their sexual behavior. With this as its starting point, our work analyzes the psychiatrists’ stance on sexuality during the period from 1880 to 1910. To do so, we consider four of the period’s main medical concerns: homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation and prostitution. ; Desde la segunda mitad del siglo XIX la sociedad uruguaya avanzó hacia un proceso de medicalización que provocó una creciente presencia de los médicos en la vida cotidiana. الوصف: Este estudo se utiliza de uma perspectiva histórica crítica para compreender um novo campo que hoje denominamos no Chile Saúde Mental e Psiquiatria Comunitária. São abordados os aspectos mais relevantes que fazem parte do processo de reconfiguração dos sujeitos e das técnicas de intervenção, na saúde e doença mentais, que tiveram lugar no Chile nas últimas décadas: as transformações nas políticas sociais a partir da década de 90, os processos de desinstitucionalização de pacientes psiquiátricos e a emergência da Saúde Mental e Psiquiatria Comunitária como um novo campo de expertise. Conclui-se que este é um campo no qual convergem elementos heterogêneos e contraditórios que, apesar disso, adquirem uma certa coerência ao introduzir elementos próprios de uma lógica de governo neoliberal, que alinha técnicas e espaços de intervenção.

الوصف: This article aims to discuss the intervention models in the field of mental health in Portugal, establishing distinctions based on Brazil mental health references. It is underlined that while mental health in Brazil was marked by the Psychiatric Reform, guided by italian model, in Portugal mental health is following the reference of Sector Psychiatry. There were four semi-structured interviews with professionals and Portuguese patiente relatives. The text concludes with the statement that in Portugal the Sector Psychiatric has not yet reached its full proposition of community care. ; Este artigo visa discutir os modelos de atuação no campo da saúde mental em Portugal, estabelecendo algumas distinções por relação aos referenciais que norteiam a saúde mental no Brasil. Nota-se que enquanto no Brasil a saúde mental foi marcada pela Reforma Psiquiátrica, com inspiração italiana, em Portugal a saúde mental segue a referência da Psiquiatria de Setor. Foram realizadas quatro entrevistas semi-estruturadas com profissionais e familiares portugueses. O texto conclui com a indicação de que em Portugal a Psiquiatria de Setor ainda não atingiu integralmente sua proposição de atendimento comunitário.

الوصف: The article that is now presented reflects upon the History of madness, text that begins from Michel Foucault's historical-archaeological analyses. Starting from a temporal writing which includes the period comprised between the Renaissance and Modernity, Foucault scrutinizes the distinct forms of the social perception of the mad person up to the institution of madness as a mental disease. An "archaeology of silence" to which madness is submitted, not a history of psychiatry, Foucault's text questions about the historical conditions that favour the occurrence of psychiatry as a scientific discours about madness and the institution of the asylum as a place for the treatment of mad person. ; O artigo que ora se apresenta reflete sobre a História da loucura, texto que dá início às análises histórico-arqueológicas de Michel Foucault. A partir de um recorte temporal, que abrange o período compreendido entre a Renascença e a Modernidade, Foucault examina as distintas formas de percepção do louco até a instituição da loucura como doença mental. Uma "arqueologia do silêncio" à que se submete a loucura, não uma história da psquiatria, o texto foucaultiano indaga sobre as condições históricas que favorecem o surgimento da psiquiatria como discurso científico sobre a loucura e a instituição do asilo como lugar de tratamento do louco.
