الوصف: Active noise control (ANC) has received intensive research in the past three decades. This paper studies the ANC system under impulsive noise condition in single-channel feedforward ANC systems. Several ANC algorithms for overcoming adverse impacts of the impulses on the update of the adaptive filter have been reviewed. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive algorithm employing the M-estimate cost function instead of the mean square error or the least mean p-power to achieve the robust performance of ANC under impulsive noise conditions. This cost function leads to the filtered-x least mean M-estimate (FxLMM) algorithm for the ANC. Intensive simulations have been conducted for performance comparison and algorithm validation. ; EI ; 0
