الوصف: Excavation is a complicated soil-structure problem and affected by a number of uncertain factors. To prevent excessive excavation-induced ground movements, which may cause the damage to adjacent buildings, is a crucial task in the excavation design stage. Past engineering experience exhibits the results of excavation analysis using the finite element method are usually inconsistent with the in-situ observations. Therefore, engineers must back-figure the representative soil parameters based on the in-situ observations for predicting the induced movements at the subsequent excavation stages. Due to the effect of uncertain factors such as stratigraphy, soil properties, sensitivity of parameters and interdependence between various parameters, inverse analysis is not capable of simultaneously identifying all parameters and thus the engineer’s experience is a necessity for reducing the variables to enhance the convergence and stability of the inverse analysis. Up to now, how to reasonably conduct the inverse analysis is still an argument. Hence, the key to identification of soil parameters in excavation is the lack of the systematic procedure and the specific evaluation indicators of the inverse analysis rather than the theory and methodology of the inverse. To this end, this study will develop a tool of inverse analysis, in which the specific evaluation indicators and diagnosis technique are incorporated, and establish a systematic identification procedure of soil parameters in the excavation analysis for improving the uncertainty of inverse analysis problem and reducing the degree of experience. In other words, the engineer can predict the excavation-induced movements to assure the safety of construction of excavation based on the developed inverse analysis tool and systematic analytic procedure. ...
