الوصف: Papiloma virusi (PV) velika su i heterogena grupa malih nekapsuliranih virusa iz porodice Papillomaviridae. Imaju kružni dvolančani DNA genom te uzrokuju benigne i maligne promjene na koži i mukoznim tkivima. Klasificira ih se na osnovi nukleotidne sličnosti L1 gena. Do kolovoza 2019. kompletno su sekvencirana 222 humana papiloma virusa (HPV, engl. human papillomavirus) koji su podijeljeni u pet PV rodova: Alphapapillomavirus (Alpha-PV), Betapapillomavirus (Beta-PV), Gammapapillomavirus (Gamma-PV), Mupapillomavirus (Mu-PV) i Nupapillomavirus (Nu-PV). Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je napraviti kompletnu molekularnu analizu novog viralnog genoma HPV159, filogenetski ga smjestiti unutar porodice PV, odrediti njegov tkivni tropizam te viralne varijante i klinički značaj. ; Papillomaviruses (PVs) are a large and heterogenous group of small non-enveloped viruses from the Papillomaviridae family. PVs have circular double-stranded DNA genome and are, etiologically linked with various benign and malignant neoplasms of the skin and mucosa. They are classified based on their similarities in the L1 gene. Until August 2019., 222 human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been completely sequenced and classified into five PV genera:Alphapapillomavirus (Alpha-PV), Betapapillomavirus (Beta-PV), Gammapapillomavirus (Gamma-PV), Mupapillomavirus (Mu-PV) andNupapillomavirus (Nu-PV). The aim of the present study was to perform the complete molecular analysis of the novel HPV159 viral genome, phylogenetically place the virus within the PV family, and determine its viral tissue tropism, viral variants and their clinical significance.
