الوصف: The ATLAS experiment is the biggest general purpose experiment located at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The ATLAS detector is designed to search for both standard model and beyond the standard model events with large datasets using high energy proton-proton collisions (13 TeV centre-of-mass energy). This document presents an analysis of events characterised by the presence of two hadronically decaying taus. The possible presence of new physics might arise as non-resonant production of di-tau events and the sensitivity is tested using Monte Carlo simulations. We conclude that using a combination of selections based on the invariant mass and angular correlations of the two taus, it is possible to achieve a sensitivity for events up to a hypothetical new physics scale Lambda of 20 TeV to 30 TeV.
