مستخلص: Child and family science disciplines have become highly specialized such that collaboration between various professionals may be a challenge. Developing professional partnerships and service-learning experiences within academic programs provides training for new professionals in a collaborative working model. A service-learning program was developed that united professionals in the fields of early childhood education and marriage and family therapy to provide in-home services to families at risk of having a child removed from the home. This article describes the importance of multidisciplinary collaborations, identifies the unique contributions of the early childhood education and marriage and family therapy partnership, and considers the challenges and benefits of this process for students and faculty in the university, members of the community, and the families receiving services.
