The authors discusses the major risk factor of HIV in young men who have sex with men (MSM) in which they refer to the study of C. B. Hurt and colleagues. Hurt and colleagues found out that many young MSM in North Carolina are having HIV due to having sex with older MSM. The author notes that the study emphasizes the issue of age-mixing patters in HIV epidemics especially in young MSM. They add that HIV prevalence is age stratified because HIV prevalence increases as the age gap increases. |
