The article discusses a research study on the distribution of insect ectoparasites, their prevalence, intensity and abundance on wild birds in the Czech Republic during pre-breeding period and post-breeding periods. Birds were examined during the season of pre-breeding migrations from March 31 to April 28, 2007 in a forest aisle near the Sub-Beskidian Hills, Czechoslovakia. It suggests that there are many factors influencing the occurrence of infestation by ectoparasites and chewing lice which can play a role in bird migration. |
