This article discusses a study which determined the association between diabetes and febrile urinary tract infection (UTI). Researchers examined adults with community-onset febrile UTI presenting at various emergency departments and primary care centers. They assessed the effect of pre-existing diabetes on presentation and microbiological and clinical outcome and performed multivariable logistic regression to establish whether diabetes was an independent risk factor for a complicated course. |
