الوصف: Includes Charts, Maps, Appendices and Bibliography. ; The purpose of this study was to determine whether students' demographic and personal characteristics affect their knowledge, opinions, and perceptions of global violent conflicts. A total of 144 students participated in the survey, in which they were asked to answer 18 questions about their background, media use, and understanding of global conflicts. Our hypothesis is that students who are majoring in social sciences and other globally oriented areas of study possess a better understanding of contemporary world issues than those who do not. The results revealed that our preconception is correct. This study reveals the importance of media usage as well as individual study in learning about the world today.
