الوصف: Transmitted by ticks, Lyme borreliosis is an important issue at the intersection of health and environment, in France and more generally in the northern hemisphere. The increase in the incidence rate of Lyme borreliosis cases, particularly since 2009, is partially explained by climatic conditions. Moreover, Lyme borreliosis is the topic of a scientific and societal controversy. From a theoretical point of view, we mobilized the theory of social representations (Moscovici, 1961), which concerns common sense knowledge, without conceiving it in terms of error or irrationality. In a socioconstructivist and interdisciplinary epistemological posture, we also mobilized notions and concepts from sociology and medical anthropology. In this thesis in Social Psychology of Health, we were interested in the social representations of Lyme borreliosis, in a context, the French one, of scientific and societal controversy. In particular, we investigated the way in which the tensional arguments around the symptomatology, the diagnosis and the duration of this disease are integrated, re-elaborated and transformed by social thought, and the way in which the latter influences scientific thought. This problematic has been broken down into three main objectives. Firstly, we investigated the processes of nosological categorization of Lyme borreliosis by health professionals, in order to account for the ways in which professional knowledge and common sense knowledge intertwine and participate in the construction and deconstruction of the Lyme borreliosis diagnosis. Secondly, we explored the process of making sense of the symptoms in people bitten by a tick, in particular via the mobilization of the explanatory function of social representations. Finally, we explored the forms of communication between general pratictioners and patients that explain the socio-cognitive processes investigated in objectives 1 and 2. These objectives were operationalized in two studies, the third objective being transversal. First, in study 1, we conducted ...
